About Organization
Welcome to Tenshinkan Shotokan RYU Karate Federation– India
Tenshinkan Karate was founded by Mamoru Miwa in 1965 and is a complete martial art system combining Karate, Aikido, Jujitsu (Goshin Jitsu), and Kobudo. It emphasizes discipline, respect, avoidance techniques (Tai Sabaki), and character development, not just fighting.
Here are its key specialties:
Strong Kihon (Basics)
Emphasis on powerful, precise techniques—deep stances, strong punches, and effective blocks.
Practical Kumite (Sparring)
Focus on real fighting application, timing, distance, and control—not just point scoring.
Refined Kata
Traditional forms are practiced with deeper understanding of bunkai (application of movements).
Discipline & Spirit
Training builds mental strength, respect, and fighting spirit along with physical ability.
Structured Teaching System
Clear grading, technical standards, and step-by-step development.
Blend of Tradition & Modern Approach
Keeps the roots of Gichin Funakoshi while adapting training for modern martial artists.
